On-The-Go Mason Jar Meals for School

freshman 15 avoid, freshman 15

I have partnered with Milk. Love What’s Real. I have been compensated for my time commitment. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.

It’s almost back to school time! I can’t believe it. Summer has gone by SO quickly!

On-the-go breakfasts and lunches are pretty much a necessity during school am I right?

Here are some EASY ones to prep in the morning (they take 5 minutes don’t worry!) when you’re running out the door

1. Salad in a Jar

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups greens

  • 1 egg

  • 1 sausage

  • 1 bell pepper

  • â…“ cup shredded cheese

  • 2 Tbsp light dressing

Directions:

  1. Hard boil egg

  2. Combine all ingredients

  3. Pack dressing separately & add it in when you’re ready to eat if you prefer!

2. Overnight Oats

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup 2% yogurt, plain

  • ¾ cup 2% milk

  • 1 cup raspberries

  • ½ cup dry oats

Directions:

  1. Combine oats, milk, yogurt, berries

  2. Let sit in container with lid (like a Ball jar) overnight

  3. If you prefer the texture of harder berries, add the berries in the morning. However, the flavor will be better (more sweet) if you add the berries the night before

3. Hard Boiled Egg Lunch with Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup arugula

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 2 oz mini mozz balls

  • 1 Tbsp light vinaigrette

  • 2 eggs

Directions

  1. Hard boil eggs

  2. Combine salad ingredients in a glass lid-lock container – add dressing at the end if you prefer

I don’t typically drink smoothies myself but I get so many requests for them! So here’s a good one you can easily take with you

1 Raspberry Smoothie

  • 1 cup 2% milk

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries

  • ½ cup ice

  • 1 Tbsp peanut butter

  • Blend well & consume fairly quickly!

And YES I used real milk in these meals 🙂

Real dairy milk (one of the original farm-to-table foods) is wholesome, affordable, and highly nutritious – a good source of protein with 8 gm of protein per 8 ounces🥛

AND milk is only $3.50 per gallon (national average)

It ALSO contains calcium and vitamin D which are hard to find in other foods and beverages

If you haven’t had some regular milk recently, get some next time you’re at the store!
